| "Classes...that's all Lori ever talks about on Xanga! Does she do anything else...???"
Why, yes, indeed I do. Sorry if that last post was a little boring (not that I'm making any guarantees about this one).
It seems like every month or two, I rotate to another group of friends. It just sortof happens. I mean, there are a couple-few people that I can always talk to, and a person needs that. But seriously, the people that I usually hang out with now are a completely different set than the group I hung out with at the start of the semester. Funny how that works out.
My sorority is now like 4 times the size it was at the start of the semester, so that's pretty sweet :o) Lots of new friends who I never would've known if they hadn't joined ADPi. I don't know all of the new girls personally, but they're all awesome! Oh, and we had elections monday night! I was elected property manager (which is a little amusing considering we don't have a house). My basic responsibilities will be making our suite super cool, and working to get us a bigger suite next year. Oh! And I also played on the ADPi/Beta Sig Broomball Team! Broomball is a sweet sport, I recommend it to everyone! My team was undefeated until tuesday night, when we lost 2-1 in the second round of playoffs :-\ Oh well, we're gonna rock it next year!
I joined ballroom dance club this semester, and it's super fun! We learned Mambo, Waltz and West Coast Swing. I'm sad that Frank is graduating and moving to Texas though, cuz now I won't have an awesome dance partner to make me look like I know what I'm doing ;o) I went to the Pla Mor a lot this semester too, probably averaging twice a month. It's a super fun way to start/end a week :)
I also started working as a lab consultant this semester. It's a pretty sweet job, especially considering I'm on the clock at this very moment ;) Get paid to sit in a computer lab, help users, and checkout equipment...not bad! However...I have this problem with waking up on time...I pretty much can't! I'm on time most days, but there have definitely been a number of days when I simply slept through both of my alarms. I seriously need like a zapper watch or something, I gotta find a better way of waking up. Or maybe I should go to bed before, say, 2:30...unlikely though...
I also changed my major last month. I am now a Computer Science major. Sort of like diet Computer Engineering. Basically, I won't have to take the Electrcial sequence that was gonna require me to stay a fifth year, my AP Chem credits make it so I won't have to take anymore science classes, once I finish Stat 380, I'll be done with math, and I get to take a couple classes pass/no pass. I'll have to take more silly Humanities/history classes, but I'll get through that. Maybe I can work it out so I get some of those credits abroad...we'll see.
Well, this post is getting pretty long, and I get off work in 10 minutes :o)
Johnny and Jordan, hopefully this makes up for the last few months of not posting...:-p

| So it's been awhile...
It's hard to believe this semester is going to be over in just over a week! It's been crazy, it's been fun, it's been stressful. But for the most part, it went pretty well.
Our semester project is finally finished! We presented on monday, so it was awesome to have that part over with early. Then we submitted the code tuesday night, after fixing a few last-minute errors.
My electrical engineering class has been over with since Thanksgiving break, so yay for that :o)
I dropped my first class ever this semester: Stat 380, with Mr. Chris Bilder. So I'll get to tkae that one again next semester; oh joy! I hope I made the right decision...but keeping my scholarhip is the main goal in this case, and I didn't want to take any chances.
Just 3 more tests stand between now and winter break freedom!!

| In class once again... did summer ever happen? Don't get me wrong, it
was awesome, but now that I'm back in the swing of things, it doesn't
really feel like I ever left.
My first week and a half back at school was made crazy busy by
recruitment planning, followed by recruitment week for Alpha Delta Pi.
Phew! It's nice to have that week over with. We have 22 new "alphas",
and they're all awesome!
I made some changes to my schedule at the last minute, but I think I'm pretty happy with it now:

What craziness shall this year hold?
Yet to be seen...but hopefully it'll be great!

| For all those interested (and that live in/near Bloomington, IL)...
Help celebrate Lori's 19th birthday, and "all of us" heading off to college! (the second year for most of us, but I know at least Archie and Sophie read this, and you're welcome too!)
Swimming will be happening this friday at a campground near East Bay/Lake Bloomington. Plan to leave town around 2:00, or meet us there! E-mail me if you need directions: lori.nichols@gmail.com, and also if you know that you will , or will not , be able to make it!
Hope to see you all there! (And keep that night open as well )
| The Fair...
So I've spent almost all of the past five days at our county fair. Exhausting...but very fun! I got to be "Fair Queen" for the first two days, and then wednesday night at the royalty contest I crowned Heather Miller as the 2005 McLean County Fair Queen. I got to spend the rest of the fair week as a normal person (aside from the many "how does it feel to be done?" questions). And let me tell ya, it was really great not having to be dressed up at the fair this year
My girls came out to the fair friday night for the country concert. It was really fun spending the evening with them. And since my mom works at the radio station, Sarah and I got to meet Keni Thomas and get his autograph and pictures with him! (if you don't know who he is, don't worry, neither did I. But hopefully he'll be famous someday ) After the concert, we got ice cream and then ended up at TCBuzz (it's a coffee shop place), where we talked and hung out for like an hour and a half.
I'm pretty sure I visited every chiropractor/massage booth at the fair (there were five). It was awesome! And since my mom is on the show committee for 4-H, and I helped her all the time, I basically had enough meal tickets to feed me for the entire week. YAY greasy, sugar-y fair food! On sunday I got to see Borderline perform in the free music tent, so that was really cool. The new receptionist at the radio station sings and plays guitar in that band, and it amuses me to no end that a British lady is in a country band!
So I head back to school in a week and 2 days...I'm really excited to go back, but it'll be sad to leave my friends again. I'm working for one more week so I can make some extra cash before I head back. But it's my birthday tomorrow!! I'll be able to legally sign contracts in Nebraska, oh yay! Friday a bunch of us are gonna get together and swim, and then possibly some tasty activities in the evening-time. If everything works out, it should be a great end to an awesome summer!
